Kasey Trenum, the author of a blog called Time 2 $ave, will teach a two-hour grocery savings workshop in Cleveland.

The event will be part of the second annual Big Hat Brunch for women in the gym of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, Aug. 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Attendees will be taught how to shop with coupons using strategic couponing and menu planning techniques with the goal of saving money on regular grocery bills.

Topics discussed in the workshop include learning how to avoid common marketing traps at the grocery store, seeing exactly how coupons work, understanding stores’ policies, keeping coupons organized and planning out family menus to save money.

Suggested attire for the event is sundresses paired with big sun hats to go along with this year’s theme. The “Son hats” and “Son dresses” are said by organizers to represent “the virtuous woman in all of us.”

Those who want to attend are asked to RSVP online, and there will also be a $10 fee at the door.
