William Ronald “Ronnie” DeLay, 56, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, in a local hospital.
He was born on Dec. 5, 1956, a son of the late James Kenneth DeLay.
He was of the Church of God faith. He worked as a truck driver for many years. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. His four grandchildren were the light of his life.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Faye Goodwin DeLay; two sons: Tony DeLay and his wife, Missy, and Paul DeLay; three sisters: Joy DeLay, Gayla Guy (Willie) and Tammy Couch (Terry); one brother, Pastor Mike DeLay (Melissa); and four grandchildren: Abbey DeLay, Tony DeLay, Brody Baliles and Paige Baliles. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Blue Springs Pentecostal Church, located at 2394 Blue Springs Road in Cleveland, with Pastor Mike DeLay officiating. Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
