On Aug. 18, Lee University held Deke Day. Deke is short for diakoneo, which in Greek means to serve. It is the introduction each year for Lee University students to service-learning program. Wellington Place was one of the locations hosting students on Deke Day. They kept the residence busy by doing manicures, and beauty salon fixing and styling of hair. The students also passed out ice cream cones for the ice cream social, played the piano and wowed residents and staff with their musical and singing talents.
