Megon Creighton Rogers, 37, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born in Bradley County, living most of her life in Cleveland. She was a 1994 graduate of Bradley Central High School and a U.S. Air Force veteran. She was of the Baptist faith and her passions were her faith, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather; Joe Thompson, and paternal grandparents; Joe and Jenny Creighton.
She is survived by her husband, William Rogers; parents, Curtis and Judy Creighton; children: Hayden Compton and Hayley Madison Compton; one sister, Candace Creighton; one brother, Adam Creighton; grandmother, Rosella Thompson of Athens; nieces: Cloe, Addison and Kate Creighton; nephew, Chase Creighton; aunts: Tammy, husband Steve Corder of Nicholsville, VA. and Dana and husband, Dan Bennewitz of Knoxville; uncle, Scott and wife, Joy Thompson of Athens; and several cousins and other extended family members.
The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. today, Aug. 29, 2013, at Double Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Shane Arnold officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m today at the church prior to the service.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at the Double Springs Church Cemetery with military honors.
A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
Dan Bennewitz, Scott Thompson, Steve Corder, Wes Corder, Derek Corder and Don Biven will serve as pallbearers.
