For the 10th consecutive year, Ace Hardware of Cleveland will be donating proceeds from its Labor Day weekend sale to United Way of Bradley County.
The sale begins on Friday and goes through Monday, Sept. 2. During this sale, Ace Hardware of Cleveland will donate to the United Way of Bradley County 5 cents of every $1 spent at the store by Ace Rewards customers.
“Ace Hardware is such a great community supporter, as we most recently saw with their donation of volunteer time and materials for our Day of Action,” said Matt Ryerson, United Way president and CEO.
“This marks Ace’s 10th year to help us through this Labor Day event, and we are so pleased to have a good relationship with such a community-minded company.”
The Cleveland Ace Hardware is not only a supporter of United Way, but has hosted many other community events in the past for such groups as emergency first responders.
United Way volunteer Nancy Casson has worked closely with the Cleveland Ace Hardware team over the past 10 years, and has witnessed first-hand the community spirit in the local store’s employees.
“You can tell how much the employees there care about their customers … the Ace folks are so friendly and so accommodating when I need assistance,” she said. “I know from working with them through this Labor Day promotion that they are also care about our community.”
Ace Hardware not only conducts this special sale to benefit United Way, but has an internal employee campaign as well.
“This is our community, and we want to help where we can,” said Ace Hardware of Cleveland store manager Randall Slack. “Our Labor Day sale to benefit United Way is one way that we give back to the community that supports us.”
With that in mind, Ace Hardware always has special deals over the Labor Day holiday. Slack and Casson said it is a great time to pick up items for those late summer projects, or even for fall and the winter months ahead.
From perusing the Ace Hardware Labor Day sales circular, one can find sales on wet/dry vacuums, paint, ladders, power tools, bird seed, garbage cans, and other items for homes.
“You are not only helping recipients of United Way services, but also helping your pocketbook by saving money,” Casson said.
United Way receives the donation from Ace Hardware from purchases made by customers with Ace Rewards cards. If you do not have a card, you can sign up today or anytime during the sale. It is free, and not only will you be helping United Way, but you will be earning points towards an Ace Reward Certificate in the process.
“The sale items are well worth coming to Ace Hardware for, so don’t just come for one or two things but make this your whole shopping list: garbage bags, light bulbs, paint, and all the items that you are going to need for fall cleanup, your rake, your shovel … come on in to Ace Hardware Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday,” Casson said.
Ace Hardware is located at 990 25th St. N.W., at the intersection of 25th Street and Peerless Road.
Store hours for the Labor Day weekend are 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; noon to 6 p.m. Sunday; and 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday/Labor Day.
