Allison Bernhard of Etowah has been selected as the winner of Bowater Employees Credit Union’s Annual $2,000 College Scholarship. She competed with many qualified candidates on the basis of grades, school activities, civic activities, and an essay on the importance of credit unions in the lives of young adults. A graduate and valedictorian of McMinn County High School, she began her undergraduate studies at Lee University. “BECU is proud to have Allison representing her credit union and her community at Lee University,” said Kim Gunter, vice president of marketing of BECU. BECU is a federally insured credit union offering savings, checking, loans, and financial education to those who live, work, worship, or go to school in the counties of Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe, and Polk.
