THE AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY Unit 81 recently presented checks to the North Lee and Bythe Bower elementary schools. The $100 check to North Lee will be used for school supplies or where needed. The Auxiliary also collected box tops and presented North Lee with 500 box top coupons. At Blythe Bower, the Auxiliary delivered six boxes of school supplies, underwear, socks and 41 pairs of shoes. The Auxiliary is serving dinner at the post on the first Wednesday of each month from 5 to 7 p.m. The proceeds benefit the Girl State Fund. The cost of the dinner is $7 and includes a meat, potatoes, vegetable, rolls and homemade desserts. The dinner is open to the public. The menu is available by calling the post at 476-4451.
