Marjorie Elizabeth Houston, 90, a resident of Cleveland passed away Wednesday morning, Sept. 18, 2013, in a local health care facility.
She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Cora Newman Green. She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert James Houston Jr.; four brothers; and one sister.
She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church and had been in the grocery business for more than 25 years working in various grocery stores in the area. She loved working outside planting flowers and working in her garden, also raising beef cattle.
Survivors include her sons: Bill Houston and his wife, Karen, and Bob Houston all of Cleveland; grandchildren: Matthew Houston and his wife, Lyuda, Colby Houston and his wife, Emily, and Robby Houston; three great-grandchildren: Kyle, Ryan and Isabella Houston; two brothers: Fred Green and his wife, Louise, of Indianapolis and Baxter Green of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 20, 2013, at the North Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Jay McCluskey officiating.
Interment will follow in the Council Baptist Church Cemetery with Jim, Glen, J.D., Robby, Matt and Colby Houston serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends today from noon until the service time at the funeral home.
