Mustangs run strong at Baylor

The Walker Valley Mustangs participated in a cross country meet at Baylor on Tuesday.

Kayla Sims led the girls with her time of 24:34 and Rachel Tarver finished with a time of 25:23.

Sierra Green came in with a time of 26:35 and Katelyn Martin finished with a time of 30:32.

For the boys, Joseph Munoz was the leading Mustang with his time of 19:56.

Mason McClure and Jimmy Ortiz both finished on Munoz’s heels with their identical time of 19:58.

Devin Pruett finished with a time of 20:08, while C.J. McCullough came in with his time of 21:03.

Justin Gregory got a time of 21:48 and Ryan Hager finished the race with a time of 22:13.

Tyler Hollis, Andrew Spruill and Bobby Chaffin finished within three seconds of each other, coming in at 22:50, 22:51 and 22:52 respectively.

Nich Gunnell ran the 5K in a time of 23:59 and Shaye Halcomb finished with a time of 25:00.

Harrison Smith came in with a time of 32:33.

According to head coach Drew Nunnelly, 17 of his runners set new personal bests at the meet.
