Jacob Nathan Ray, 37, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, in a Chattanooga hospital.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanton D. Ray; paternal grandfather, Ernest Ray; maternal grandfather, Harlis Ralph Colbaugh Sr.; uncles: Harlis Ralph Colbaugh Jr. and Charles Evitt.
He was a high school graduate. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid reader. He raised reptiles to sell. He attended Trinity Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Earnestine N. Tina Ray, of Cleveland; stepdaughters: Heather Thomas and Megan Thomas, both of Benton, and Brittany Thomas and Ashley Ellison, both of Cleveland: stepson, Jeremy Thomas of Benton; mother, Kathleen Colbaugh of Cleveland; brother, Winston C. Ray of Cleveland; paternal grandmother, Betty R. Ray of Cleveland; maternal grandmother, Mandy Geraldine Colbaugh of Chattanooga; and several aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Tim Paul officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
