Locals recently had the opportunity to learn a new skill at the UT Extension program Economic Solutions: Turning Personal Resources into Cash. Whether employed or not, most could use some extra cash. Making baskets from “scratch” is a skill that can be acquired to supplement your income or be a relaxing, enjoyable hobby. Completing the class are Kathy Barrett, Stacey Dalton, Carolyn Vandemark, Cindy Ellis, Donna Calhoun, Extension agent and coordinator, Kay Green, Clara Peels, Carole Pirkle, Donna Klaaren, Carol Hicks, Jan Stephenson, Susan Stewart, Kaye McGuffey, Wilma Bell, Norma Morgan, and Cheryl Davis. Rebecca Layman, Monroe County Extension agent, assisted with the workshop. For more information about this program or any Extension activity, contact the UT Extension office at 423-338-4503 or visit the website at https://utextension.tennessee.edu/polk.
