Jack Caldwell, 77, a resident of Georgetown, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013.
He was the son of the late Glennie Roe Caldwell and Dennis “Red” Caldwell.
He was a U. S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was retired as a maintenance supervisor with Maytag with more than 20 years of service.
He enjoyed camping at the lake with family and friends. He had a deep love for missions and was involved with Ocoee Outreach, Tennessee Disaster Relief and served on various mission trips. He was a member of the Georgetown Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
The family would like to express appreciation to the doctors and staff at SkyRidge Medical Center for their care.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Caldwell of Georgetown; son, Jackie Caldwell and his wife, Cathy; daughter, Sharon Caldwell Felton and her husband, Kevin; grandchildren: Jennifer Felton and Joshua Caldwell; great-granddaughter, Lani Caldwell; sisters: June Hicks and her husband, Ben, and Phyllis Campbell and her husband, the Rev. Jerry Campbell; brother, Kenneth Caldwell and his wife, Kathy, of Ohio; brothers-in-law: Sammy Goodner and his wife, Belle, Steve Goodner and his wife, Celia, and Dennie Goodner; sister-in-law, Sally Massey; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, from the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Revs. Earl Farris, Jerry Campbell and Gerald Atkins officiating.
Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. from the U.S. National Cemetery in Chattanooga. Military honors will be given.
Jim Blair, Leon Smith, Gene Smith, Jerry Beavers, Roy Cross and Dennis Hicks serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men of Georgetown Baptist Church.
A dove release will conclude the services.
The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Georgetown Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Mission Fund, P.O. Box 309 Georgetown, TN 37336.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening, Oct. 2, at the funeral home.
