Hoyt McAlister, 91, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, in a local health care facility.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lucy Prater McAlister; sisters, Dorothy Albritton and Geneva Simmons; brothers, Bud and Jesse McAlister; and a grandson, Barry McAlister.
He was retired from Magic Chef with more than 40 years of service. He was a World War II United States Army veteran and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Mae McAlister, of Cleveland; his sons: Wayne McAlister and his wife, Alana of Knoxville, Eddie Botts and his wife, Connie, of Cleveland, Julian Botts and his wife, Sharon, of Cleveland; daughters: Sue Brannon and her husband, Jeff, of El Paso, Texas, and Janet Stover of Cleveland; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at 11 a.m., at the North Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Bill Wilkinson officiating.
Interment will follow in Moore’s Chapel cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
