Brent Alan Droke, 49, a resident of Sweetwater, passed away Friday night, Oct. 18, 2013.
He was born in York, Ala., but moved with his parents as a young child to Cleveland, where he was raised and graduated from Bradley Central High School in 1982.
He was a member of the Cleveland Christian Church. He was employed with Don Ledford Automotive in Cleveland. He loved antiques and was an avid Alabama college football fan. Above all he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 13 years, Kerry Smith Droke; two stepsons: Anthony and Zakary Jones; one daughter and son-in-law, Callie and Matt Gentry of Etowah; father and mother, James and Naomi Droke of Cleveland; three granddaughters: Emily, Lily and Kylee Gentry; one stepdaughter, Ashley Cross and her husband, Mitch; one stepgrandson, Colton Riden; several other extended family members; and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at 8 p.m. at Cleveland Christian Church, 3448 Davis Circle, Cleveland, with minister Louis Rouse officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church from 6 until the 8 p.m. service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Cleveland Christian Church in Brent’s memory.
