The Creed states the beliefs of United Methodists and is recited by congregations every Sunday.
Connie Day was a faithful member of Broad Street, until her untimely death a few years ago.
Pastors Skip White and Randy Martin invited guest to recall their memories of Connie as they led the service.
Many took this opportunity — many whom she helped on their spiritual journeys and many she brought to church when she invited them.
Dr. Jim Burns, a retired Lee University professor of music, sang his own arrangement of the Apostle’s Creed. Afterward, all were treated to canapés, coffee and tea as the reminiscing continued.
Connie was the daughter of Josephine Day and the late Conrad Day whose comic strip, By Ned Classics, still appears in the Cleveland Banner.
Jo Day enjoyed the dedication in memory of her daughter and, in addition, she celebrated her 90th birthday. She blew out candles on a beautiful, flowered cake and nodded appreciation for the many happy birthday wishes.
