DramaCentral, the Bradley Central High School’s Theater Co., will be presenting “Footloose: The Musical” on Nov. 7 through 10 in the BCHS Fine Arts Theater.

The performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday are at 7 p.m. and the Nov. 10 presentation is at 2 p.m.

“Footloose” tells the story of Ren, a Chicago native, uprooted by family crisis and transplanted to the small town of Bomont, Ga.

In Bomont, Ren faces gossip and scorn.

Most music and dancing is banned in Bomont, due to a “devastating loss.”

In an attempt to change the law, Ren manages to change the town, himself and the lives of those around him.

Based on the 1984 film of the same name, “Footloose” explores issues of faith and doubt, trust and fear, and sorrow and renewal through touching as well as foot-stomping music and dance.

Footloose stars seniors Robbie Goins as Ren McCormick; Alex Smith as the Rev. Shaw Moore; Allie McCosh as Ariel Moore; and Brendan Hayes as Chuck Cranston.

DramaCentral’s production is directed by Lindsey Smith Bell with musical direction by BCHS alumni Cody Glover and Riley Shull, with assistance from Paul Cannon.

“Footloose” is stage managed by senior Levi Peels and choreographed by local dance instructor and choreographer Tria Montgomery of Onstage Dance and Music Company.
