Bradley County EMS put its new response bicycles to work on Halloween at the annual block party in downtown Cleveland. Paramedics David Hanshaw and Allie Taylor suited up in their EMS bike uniforms and went to work to provide any type of medical assistance that might be needed during the evening. “This is really beneficial in that the medics can maneuver easily through the crowds and respond much quicker to get to someone that is sick or injured,” said Stan Clark. During the course of the evening they responded to four calls at the block party. Two of the patients had to be transported to the hospital. The other two were treated and released on the scene. The bicycle program was fully funded by donations from local businesses and could not have been possible without the cooperation and generosity of Scott’s Bicycles here in Cleveland.
