Donald Stidham, a graduate of Bradley Central High School and a former student of Lee University, has released “Breath of Life,” his debut novel in the Real Christian Novels series.

The book, a Christian Romance about a family’s struggle to stay together, is available for download on Amazon and in print on Createspace.com/4389657.

“Breath of Life” is a Real Christian Novel — a subtitle coined by the author. “Real Christians struggle daily, fall victim to sin, and understand forgiveness better than most,” says Stidham. “‘Breath of Life” is the first in a series of Real Christian Novels that does not share the same characters, but has a common, faith-based storyline, he said.

In “Breath of Life,” Lucas and Sophie Bradley’s relationship started with passion and adventure while they traveled the Eastern United States as photographers. From Texas to Niagara Falls to the beaches of Florida, their love flourished on the go.

They always dreamed of buying a house on the ocean and having two beautiful children to raise there. But when Sophie became pregnant, the couple compromised and rooted themselves in Valleyfield, N.C., five hours from the Atlantic.

Fifteen years later, Sophie is ready to call it quits. She befriends Richard, an Italian co-worker, who promises to take her away to a future filled with excitement and spontaneity — just like the days of her past. Lucas thrives on the youthful sensation his vigorous secretary offers while also reliving his youth. Their family is headed for destruction.

Lucas senses the ensuing catastrophe and calls upon a forgotten friend to help save his marriage and family. His life-changing decision and its impact could be too much for Sophie to bear. The hope for their future lies in a missing key both lost over time. Can the Bradley family pull it together before it’s too late?

Stidham’s debut novel tells a compelling story about making mistakes, losing focus and discovering the courage each of us to has to fight for what we love. True love has the power of forgiveness, healing and second chances when all the wrong choices are made. If we hold tight, we can experience the “Breath of Life.”

Stidham studied creative writing at Southern New Hampshire University and pastoral studies at Lee University. His writing has already inspired many through Facebook, and his blog and first novel are sure to do the same. More information on the author can be found at https://www.facebook.com/d.stidham1982.
