CHATTANOOGA — ArtsBuild is currently accepting requests for the 2013-14 the Community Cultural Connections (CCC) grant program that supports arts and cultural projects for underserved populations in Hamilton County.

Now in its second year, Community Cultural Connections is a direct result of Imagine Chattanooga 20/20, the community-wide cultural plan that created strategies to improve the greater Chattanooga area through arts and culture.

“The popular slogan in Chattanooga is “the arts are for all,” said Jim Hill, co-chair of the Diversity committee with Imagine Chattanooga 20/20.

“Imagine Chattanooga 20/20 recognized that much more can be done to serve diverse communities and neighborhoods. This is a great first step to be sure that arts and culture is accessible to everyone.”

“Our committee took on a broad definition of diversity,” said ArtsBuild board member James McKissic. “Through the Community Cultural Connections grants we want the arts to be available to cultural and ethnic communities, seniors, and persons with disabilities in every region of our county.”

Funding for the 2013/2014 Community Cultural Connections grants is provided by Hamilton County Commissioner Tim Boyd, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee Community Trust, Benwood Foundation, Lyndhurst Foundation, and the McClellan Foundation.

The deadline for CCC grant proposal requests is November 22, 2013. Organizations are not required to have 501(c)(3) status to apply.

The Community Cultural Connections grant guidelines and application is available on online at www.ArtsBuild.com.
