“As a lot of you know, I have been involved in public service for over 33 years. My strong commitment to this calling was instilled in me early on by my father. He believed it to be a person’s responsibility and privilege to serve others,” Smith noted.
“I love this community, and, having served on the Bradley County Commission for almost eight years, I consider it an honor to have represented the citizens of the 3rd District.
“I’m very proud of the work I’ve done as chairman of the Juvenile, Law Enforcement, Education and Workhouse Committees. The Commission has worked to bring large industrial companies into our community that will benefit us as Bradley County and Cleveland taxpayers in years to come,” he said.
“I’ve been blessed to have worked with some great community leaders; ordinary people, like myself, who have as much compassion and vision for Bradley County as I do.

And I feel it is a season for other exceptional individuals to serve this great community,” he said.
“I would like to say thank you to my family and friends, whom I love so much. But I want to tell the citizens of the 3rd District that it has been an honor and privilege to serve them, and I pray I have served them well,” Smith concluded.
