CCS falls to Knox Christian

KNOXVILLE — The Cleveland Christian School Crusaders dropped a pair of basketball games to Knoxville Christian at the home of the Knights Friday.

After breaking a 14-14 first quarter tie, the Lady Knights took a 22-21 lead into the halftime break. The Lady Crusaders rallied back in the third to go up 32-30, but managed only nine fourth quarter points and fell 46-41.

Holly Sutton led the Lady Crusaders with 20 points. Acacia Thompson hit double figures with 13. Whitney White added six, and Emily Sexton scored two points for CCS.

The CCS boys were never really in the hunt, falling behind 17-6 after the first quarter. The KC Knights held a 37-10 lead at halftime and went on to take the 68-15 win.

Tanner Alguire scored six points for the Crusaders, while Matthew Mathis scored five. Bo Martin and Seth Hood tossed in two points each.
