TONeeke Runinwater Henderson was awarded the first-place blue ribbon for her painting, Secretariat (Galloping Wind) in the award ceremony at The Literary Visions juried competition in Athens on Nov. 19. The event was centered around creating works by the written words — a book, play, movie, poem, song and so forth, and a statement explaining the inspiration of the artist.

One of the memorial awards was also given in Toneeke’s son’s name to a high school or college student. The juror was Jere Chumley.
