Mary Elizabeth Shelton Hybarger, of Cleveland, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, in a Chattanooga hospital.
She was born on Feb. 4, 1927, in the Spring Creek community of Calhoun.
She was the daughter of the late Walter Shelton and Lula Bacon Shelton.
She loved Atlanta Braves baseball, redbirds, crossword puzzles and bingo. She was a faithful employee of Bowater paper mill for 35 years. She was a lifelong member of Calhoun Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Clark; brother, Henry Shelton and half brother, Gene Sharp.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, C.L. Hybarger; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Kim Hybarger; one grandson, Casey Hybarger; her sisters: Dorothy Eaves, of Florence, Ala. and Grace Ann Thompson, of Yellow Springs, Ohio; nieces: Ann Leamon, Janice Clark, Johnny Ruth Michaels, Tammy Killian, Connie Childers, and Erica Bothwell; nephews: Benny Eaves and Billy Shelton; several great-nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved; special friends :Martha Evans, Gertie Sherlin, Jackie Sharp and Nancy Lewis.
The visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Stuart Park Baptist Church, with the funeral at 7 with pastor Jim Caywood officiating.
Interment will be Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 2:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Franks, John Franks, Seth Bothwell and D.J. Bales. Music will be by Leonard Sampson and D.J. Bales.
