Alpha Theta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international honorary sorority for women educators, kicked off the Christmas season Dec. 9 with the annual Christmas party at Bethany Stephens’s home.

Twenty-seven members and four guests were present. Members shared finger foods, played a Nativity story game and enjoyed a time of great fellowship. Instead of exchanging gifts, members brought newborn baby clothes, blankets and baby accessories for the newborn nursery. Alpha Theta’s December altruistic project has been the newborn nursery unit at SkyRidge Medical Center for many years.

In order to increase the magnitude of the gift to the newborn nursery, this year, Alpha Theta teamed with Melinda Braunstein’s fifth-grade class at Hopewell Elementary School.

Jerri Gibson, an RN in the newborn unit, was very grateful to receive such a generous donation of baby clothes, blankets and baby accessories.
