Irene Thiron, 72, of Calhoun, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at her home.

She was born on Aug. 9, 1941, to Lovie and Golden Howell in Michigan. She was the oldest of six children.

She later moved to Illinois and married Werni Thiron in 1966.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Werni Thiron; and her three children: Cathy Simpson Mayer and husband, Paul, Steve Simpson and wife, Pam, and Tara Thiron Godfrey; as well as her four grandchildren: Megan and Lizzie Simpson and Ryan and Austin Godfrey; two brothers, Ottis Howell of Hamilton, Ala., and Nate Howell of Charleston; and two sisters, Shirley Fox of Illinois and Tammy Bennett of Cleveland.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Howell of Cleveland.

She was a woman who loved the Lord with all of her heart. She was involved in spreading the gospel to others through emails and letters, and passing along stories of miracles. She was always excited to spread the message of the Lord.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at South Cleveland Church of God, 1846 Volunteer Drive S.W.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the service time at 6 p.m.
