He was born on Feb. 26, 1942, to the late Alfred Henry and Stella Mae Stinnett.
He was a lifelong resident of Cleveland and of the Baptist faith. He was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 47 years, Clara Collins Stinnett; son, Jeff Stinnett; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Kirk Allen; sisters: Leota Rice (Billy) and Lucille Shipman (the Rev. W.L); brothers: Paul Stinnett, Billy Stinnett (Drucilla), and A.J. Stinnett (Shirlyn); two grandchildren: Jake and Jared Allen; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Georgetown Baptist Church, Highway 60 in Georgetown, with the Revs. Jerry Campbell, W.L. Shipman, Dan Dockery, and Earl Farris officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church.
Interment will follow the service on Thursday at McClanahan Cemetery. Kirk Allen, Tim Ledford, Danny Stinnett, Chris Stinnett, Mike Stinnett, and Nathan Shipman will serve as pallbearers. The men of Georgetown Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
