Garrett H. Haven Jr., 89, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, in a local health care facility.

He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was retired from Bowater after 31 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II in Europe and later the Korean Conflict.

He was an avid bowler and golfer. He was a graduate of Bradley Central High School class of 1943 where he was chosen Most Athletic and in later years was inducted into the Old Timers Hall of Fame. He played the first football game ever to be played in Hitler Stadium in Nuremburg, Germany.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Bivens Haven and daughter, Janice Fenton.

Survivors include his two children: Howard Haven and Holly Lehman and husband, Kevin, all of Cleveland; three grandchildren: Christopher Lehman and wife, Kelly, of Cleveland, Melissa Fenton Reno and husband, Matt, of Norwood, Ohio, and John Fenton and wife, Patricia, of Norwood, Ohio; six great-grandchildren: Brianna Mikel, Scott Reno, Austin Reno, Macy Reno, Garrett Fenton and Cedar Fenton.

At his request, there will be no funeral service.
