Anna Ruth Garrett, 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, in a local hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Willie and Lizzie Croft Torbett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Garrett; her sisters: Reba Lands, Ola Martin and Nadine Roberts; and brothers: J.C. Torbett and Azel Torbett.

She attended Washington Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Timothy Garrett; daughters: Kathryn Keller and her husband, Ronny, and Debra Gibson, all from Cleveland; grandchildren: Amber Gibson Ross, Amanda Millsaps, Colby Keller, Tyler Garrett and Macayla Garrett; brothers: Bob Torbett and his wife, Janie, Charlie Torbett and his wife, Diane, Greely Torbett and his wife, Ruth, all of Englewood; sisters: Della White of Cleveland, Sue McIntire and her husband, G.C., of Englewood, Audrey Mitchell of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Joe Harris officiating.

Interment will follow in the Chestuee Baptist Church Cemetery in Monroe County with David McIntire, Dewayne Hicks, Paul Lemons, Colby Keller, Mike Roberts and Bill White serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends this evening from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.

The family extends appreciation to the nursing staff with Care South Hospice.
