Locals make Sewanee dean's list

SEWANEE — The following area students have been named to the dean's list at the University of the South for the Advent 2013 term:

- Taylor Morris of Benton, who is the child of Kalin and Randall T. Morris;

- Rachel Denham of Cleveland, who is the child of Peggy and David Denham;

- Christian Whittemore of Cleveland, who is the child of Angie and Jason T. Whittemore;

- Tia Strickland of Harrison, who is the child of Sarah and Gordon K. Strickland;

- Ryan Poole of Harrison, who is the child of Christine and Michael Wayne Poole; and

- Sarah Brown of Ooltewah, who is the child of Barry A. Brown.

To earn a place on Sewanee's dean's list, a student must earn a minimum GPA of 3.625 on a 4.0 scale.

The University of the South, familiarly known as Sewanee, comprises a nationally recognized college of liberal arts and sciences and a distinguished school of theology. Located on 13,000 acres in Tennessee's Cumberland Plateau, Sewanee enrolls 1,500 undergraduates and approximately 100 seminarians.
