The fair will be held Feb. 25 in the Youth Gym at the Cleveland Family YMCA, 220 Urbane Road. The Children’s Activity Fair brings together different preschools, parents’-day-out programs, private schools, local businesses and agencies which provide services just for children.
The fair is open to the public and everyone is invited. “Last year, more than 50 vendors were represented and more than 250 people attended,” explained Lori Hammonds, co-chairman of the event, “and feedback was great.”
She said it’s a wonderful opportunity to meet vendors all in one place. “We have everything from children’s boutiques, to agencies, to business, and schools. Parents are busy and this gives them an opportunity to see all that Cleveland has to offer. Even working parents can come during their lunch breaks.”
In addition, Hammonds continued, “each vendor provides their own door prize. Participants to the fair have the opportunity to visit each booth, have their official form signed at each table, and then draw for a prize. Where else can you meet and learn about so many services in one place?”
“New to the fair this year,” said Becca Brnik, “we’ve added a lunch vendor since the event is happening over lunchtime. The Refuge Center will be catering food, so everyone can grab something to eat and bless this organization.”
Also, she added, every parent attending the fair will receive an ad booklet with the vendors included in it in as an easy reference.
Proceeds from the sale of the ads will go to the national MOM’s philanthropy, the Mother-to-Mother Fund. This fund provides monies for MOM’s club members when unexpected tragedies strike. Two members received $10,000 after the 2011 tornado outbreak demolished both their homes, so the club makes every effort to raise funds for this organization each year.
So far there are 45 vendors confirmed and more are sought. A business, agency or school directly involved with children would be appreciated as a sponsor. Contact Brnik at email@example.com or find the event page on Facebook at MOM’s Club of Cleveland, TN Third Annual Children’s Activity Fair.
