He was born on Sept. 20, 1951. He was a lifelong resident of Georgetown.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, he enjoyed NASCAR-especially Dale Earnhardt, he was involved in helping the American Legion, as well as the Little Angels.
He played golf and was also involved in a men’s softball league. Above all of these things, however, he will be remembered for being a very generous man and a loving grandfather, who took care of his grandchildren dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dean Geren; wife, Janice Kay Geren; and three uncles: Luther Geren, Gene Geren, and Dreyfuss Geren.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory two daughters: Michelle Anderson and Meleah Geren; five brothers: Ronnie Geren (Charlene), Terry Geren (Lucille), John Geren, Chris Geren (Margaret), and Greg Geren; one sister, Jan Bedingfield (Tommy); and six grandchildren: Dakota Geren, Mathew Ramsey, Trevor Ramsey, Colton Ramsey, Olivia Anderson and Phallyn Anderson.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Candies Creek Baptist Church, located at 294 Old Eureka Road, Charleston, TN 37310. Terry Geren will be officiating.
Interment will follow the service in Candies Creek Cemetery. Gene Ramsey, Ronnie Geren, John Geren, Kris Geren, Dakota Geren, Mathew Ramsey, Trevor Ramsey, Colton Ramsey, and Olivia Anderson will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the church.
