The 56th Polk County Ramp Tramp Festival benefitting the Polk County 4-H, will be held April 23 to 26 at the Polk County 4-H Camp in Greasy Creek.

The festival committee is working hard to make this year’s festival a hit.

On the April 25 the Annual Bluegrass and Beans night will highlight local bluegrass along with white beans fried potatoes, cornbread and raw ramp meal starting at 7 p.m.

The festival highlight will be the Ramp lunch served on April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meal includes fried ramp in eggs, whiteheads, streaked meat, cornbread and fried potatoes. Bluegrass and gospel music will be performed while you enjoy your lunch.

The next Ramp Tramp planning meeting will be held Feb.20 at 6 p.m. at the Benton Municipal Building.

Volunteers are needed to help the more than 500 4-H members in Polk County that attend camp McCroy each year.

Everyone interested in volunteering and being a part of the festival are welcome to attend.

Proceeds from the Ramp tramp Festival go toward the operation and maintenance of the Polk County 4-H Camp (Camp McCroy).
