WV HOF & FIRST PITCH BANQUET

The 2014 Walker Valley Hall of Fame and First Pitch B anquet will be held March 2. The silent auction will begin at noon, with the dinner to be served at 1 that Sunday afternoon. Former MTSU coaching legend Steve Peterson will be the special guest speaker for the annual fund raising event for the Mustang baseball team. The Bradley Central Bears baseball team is offering BC baseball discount cards. The cards are $20 each and are good for price reductions, free items and buy one get one offers from various local businesses. The cards can be delivered to offices. For more information, call 596-1616.

MLK TOURNAMENT

The third annual Martin Luther King basketball tournament will be held on Feb. 27-March 1. The tournament is open to grades 2-5 and the cost is $50 to participate. All proceeds benefit local at risk youth. Contact Phonnie Martin at 423-599-1875 for more information.

The Greater Cleveland Soccer Association Spring Recreational Soccer Season registration is now online at www.grcsa.org. Deadline to register is March 4.

ASA UMPIRE MEETINGS

The Bradley/Cleveland Softball Umpire Association is recruiting umpires and scorekeepers for the upcoming 2014 season. The association will be holding preseason meetings at the Cleveland Community Center on South Church Street on the following schedule: Feb 23 (2 p.m.), March 6 (6 p.m.), March 16 (2 p.m.) and March 30 (2 p.m.). SOFTBALL TEAM SIGN UPS

Anyone wishing to put a team in the spring softball leagues must attend meetings on March 4, March 18 and April 1 at the South Cleveland Community Center at 6 p.m. The leagues include Men and Women’s Open, Men and Women’s Church and Co-ed. For more information call 559-3322.

5K RACE

HAWK RUN CHALLENGE

The third annal Hawk Run Challenge 10K, 5K and 1-mile family fun run/walk benefitting Tennessee Christian Preparatory School will take place March 15 at North Cleveland Church of God. Entry fees for the Challenge is $25 for the 10K/5K and $15 for the Fun Run before March 14. After March 14 and the day of the race, entry fees are $30 for 10K/5K and $20 for Fun Run.
