The His Hands Extended Red-back Hymnal Singing will return to North Cleveland Baptist Church on March 9 at 6 p.m.

This event was well received at North Cleveland Baptist Nov. 17 and an encore requested, according to Pastor Jay McCluskey.

The service, which was conceived on the idea that so many people are missing getting to sing the old songs, will feature, almost exclusively, music taken from the 1951 edition of the Church Hymnal (affectionately known as the Red Back Hymnal) that was published here in Cleveland by Tennessee Music & Printing Company.

The meeting will be moderated by Max Morris, director of His Hands Extended and World-Wide Prayer Partners. Congregational singing will be directed by Joe Washington. The choir will be under the direction of the Rev. Kevin Mendel, pastor of Grace Community Church.

Accompaniment will be provided by Jack Clark, piano; Patrick Wooden, organ; Steve Haun, bass; Perry Horner, trombone; and others.

Except for the recorded opening that is such a significant part of the HHE morning devotions, all music will be live.

Anyone who is familiar with the music is invited to be a member of the choir. a Red Back Hymnal singings are rapidly becoming a large part of the southern American musical landscape.
