Walker Valley successful in first track meet

Walker Valley hosted its All-Comers Jamboree last Friday, and had several of their own track and field athletes do well in the competition.

The Lady Mustangs made quite a showing at the Jamboree, claiming several top three places.

Katelyn Martin finished first in the 3,200-meter run, while Rachel Lawhorn set a new school record and also finished first in discus as well as second in the shot put event.

CyCy White finished third in both discus and shot put.

Christy Shepherd finished first in the long jump, and Peytin Delk came in second in the same event.

Kayla Sims claimed fourth place in the 1,600-meter race and Sierra Green came in fifth place in the 800-meter race.

The Mustangs also saw a few of their competitors do well at the Jamboree.

Will Burdin finished second in the triple jump and Devin Pruett finished in fourth place in the long jump.

Pruett also nabbed a fifth in the 100-meter race, while Vincent Jur got fifth place in the 3,200-meter run.
