Johnny Miller is a candidate for constable in the 5th District.

Miller has lived his adult life in the Bradley County area and the county for more than 20 years.

A 1984 high school graduate, Miller has always had a strong interest in civil and community service.

He proudly has served in the 5th District as a business owner in Cleveland for the last seven years and is proud to be part of a growing county.

In preparation for being a public servant, Miller has attended Cleveland State Community College, and put himself through Cleveland State Law Enforcement Training Academy.

After graduating from the Police Academy, he had several opportunities to go to work in other agencies but had no desire to leave Bradley County.

He feels his preparations more than qualify him to fill the 5th District constable position.

Miller also assists with officers training at the Juvenile Detention Center along with other assistance as needed.

He is a member of the NRA and the American Gunsmith Association, as well as the Cleveland Amateur Radio Club, Cleveland Amateur Radio Emergency Services and the Cleveland Hunting Rifle and Pistol Club.

He is a TWRA hunter safety course instructor, and trained in Saurez International Tactical Training.

Miller stated that after the loss of friend and 5th District Constable Ira Cox, he felt it was time to pay back to his community and Bradley County.

The 5th District commissioners approached him and stated they would appoint an interim constable.

Miller is seeking the position on qualifications, with total community and public support, to be appointed by the voters who value the best and sincerest candidate.

He pledges to support all emergency services and assist in making their jobs easier.

Miller stated he is steadfast in his faith and that he is proud of his wife, Tammy, and wonderful daughters Ginger and Breanna for their help and support.

As for hobbies, he has several, but he enjoys motorcycle excursions with his family best.

Miller said, “I humbly ask for your vote to be elected on my preparations, experience, and qualifications as I have them for open inspection.

“My promise is to serve my community and my county with integrity, honesty, sincerity, and with the utmost respect. I hope to see you soon as I work my way to your door.

“Feel free to contact me at 423-790-2780 for a sign, or if you have a question, as I will make myself accessible as your 5th District constable and will have an open door as your public servant,” he concluded.
