Carol “Peaches” Searles is seeking the post of 4th District commissioner of Bradley County.

“I am the proud owner of two thriving businesses in Bradley County: American Rooter and American Portables. I also owned Miss Peaches Sunny Day care for many years.

“Believe me, I understand how to stay within a budget, run a business and never spend what you don’t have, and I feel this is the way government should be run on a local, state and federal level. Any time I hear about a decision that has been made in government, my first statement is ‘They didn’t ask me what I thought.’ I want to reassure you as constituents of the 4th District that I will be asking what you think and will always be available to you, whether it be by phone, social media, email or just on the street,” she said.

“I am the proud mom of Ashley Searles, who is attending Lee University, and the loving wife and business partner of Ken Searles for more than 21 years,” she said.

“I understand commitment and dedication. We have been a family of this district for many years, and thanks to Bradley County we have stayed steady and strong in our business and life.

“I feel that it is time for me to give back to you with my time, experience, honesty and hard work. Anyone that knows me personally — which many of you do — knows that I am a hard worker and I will always get the job done.

“I am a member of MainStreet Cleveland, the Cleveland Elks Lodge and the Chamber of Commerce. I am the president of the Ocoee Region Builders Association of Bradley County. I have been awarded Associate of the Year and the President’s Award through the Builders Association. This year I am the first nationally recognized associate to become president of any builders association.

“I was recently awarded for active participation from the American Legion Auxiliary. I thoroughly enjoy all my volunteer time in Bradley County and plan to continue this tradition and instill my beliefs of the importance of volunteering in my daughter, Ashley

“I believe in your right to vote on annexation. I believe the community should decide what is best for them; therefore, district meetings are needed. I want to serve this district as the people want and not as I see fit.

“I want your voice to be truly heard, as a taxpaying citizen of Bradley County. I will protect our hard earned tax dollars. I will listen and your voice will be heard,” she promised.

“There are two seats available in the 4th District of Bradley County and I would appreciate your vote for one of them. Please make your second vote count,” Searles said.
