Cleveland VFW Post 2598 has been fined $15,000 for violating the state’s gambling law.

According to Joshua Stepp, legal counsel for the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission, the infraction was discovered April 25 of last year.

Stepp said the case involving the post, which is located at 3370 North Ocoee St., is currently “in litigation.”

“It is an ongoing matter,” Stepp said. “We typically do not talk about ongoing matters and those that are in legal proceedings.”

He did confirm there has been no action taken against the post at this time, pending the litigation.

“It will be up to the judge to determine whether the fine remains as is and [any decisions] about any further actions,” Stepp said.
