Family Reading Night will be filled with spring-themed reads on Monday at 6:30 p.m. The first 10 participants will receive a free book. This event is co-sponsored with the United Way of Bradley County.

Learn new quilting techniques and make new friends in a FREE “Undercover” quilting class.The six-week class will meet each Tuesday at 6 p.m. at The Salvation Army, 437 Inman St. For more information, call 308-3467.

Movie Night at the library will show “Captain Phillips” (PG-13) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Community Room. “Captain Phillips” is based on the 2009 hijacking of the U.S. container ship Maersk Alabama by a crew of Somali pirates. Join us for a viewing on the big screen.

Activities for teens this week include Book Talk where they will discuss “Matched” by Ally Condie on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in the Teen Zone. After Hours for Teens, (13 to 17) will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. The library is open only for teens, to spend time discussing books, gaming, watching movies or all of these activities. The Scribblers Writing Club for Tweens and Teens will meet March 27 at 4:30 p.m. in the Children’s Activity Room.

An Evening with crime novelist C.A. Griffith has been announced by the Friends of the Library Association for April 24 at the Cleveland Country Club. Griffith is a retired major with the Cobb County (Ga.) Sheriff’s Office. There will be an author reception at 6 p.m. and Author Talk at 7:30 p.m. A question-and-answer session and book signing will follow. For more information, visit www.clevelandlibrary.org.

The Salvation Army’s Character Building Class, providing an afterschool program for school-age children, meets each Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army, 437 Inman St. The class includes meaningful opportunities for learning, social activities, creative arts and spiritual growth. Fun and fitness exercise classes for all ages are held at First United Methodist Church, 3425 N. Ocoee St., Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon to 1 p.m. The classes, which are taught by Ann Smeltzer RN, will continue for five weeks. Cost is $1 per day. Dining with Diabetes Workshop will begin on April 7, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the UT Extension- Bradley County office at 95 Church St. S.E., Cleveland. The four-week series will continue on April 14, 21 and 28. Call the UT Extension office for registration details at 728-7001

Join Faith & Fitness Zumba class which meets each week at The Salvation Army on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., Thursday at 6 a.m. and Thursday at noon. Each class is one hour long.
