“One cent of every gallon pumped off the Red Cross logoed pumps at any of these locations will be donated to the American Red Cross for the remainder of 2014,” said Greg Waite, CEO, American Red Cross of Southeast Tennessee.
“We are fortunate to have great supporters in our community like RaceWay Fuel Centers that are willing to help us raise critical funds to support our mission in the community,” Waite added.
Drivers are encouraged to find a RaceWay location nearest to them — 1565 25th St. N.W. — and help the Red Cross help others, one gallon at a time.
In addition, all area RaceWay Fuel Centers will participate in a Customer Donation program encouraging the public to make donations to support the American Red Cross at any of their fuel centers.
“Every donation — big and small — will help people right here in our community impacted by disaster,” Waite said.
“In the month of March alone, Red Cross volunteers have assisted over 150 people post-disaster, including the most recent Jaycee Towers evacuation and shelter. This is in addition to supporting national and larger-scale disasters like the ongoing effort in Oso, Wash., after the landslide,” he said.
“We are excited to partner with a great organization like the American Red Cross, that is always there for our community when needed most,” said Randy Marsh, district manager with RaceWay Petroleum. “We know drivers have a choice when it comes to fueling up their vehicles, and we hope with his announcement they would consider fueling up, shopping at, even making a separate donation at a RaceWay Gas Station near them.”
The Fill Up and Fuel Disaster Relief Fundraising program will run through the end of 2014.
