Sexual violence is a serious problem across the country. The Family Violence Program is a local nonprofit agency that provides free and confidential services to those affected by Rape and Sexual Assault in Bradley and Polk Counties.

April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

In honor of the 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime, the Family Violence Program along with Inman Street Coffeehouse will be sponsoring its annual Cup of Prevention event.

The event will be held April 26, 6 to 9 p.m., at Inman Street Coffeehouse and is open to the whole community.

Local bands The Mailboxes and The Ambitions will be playing at the event.
