Mustangs post impressive finishes at Best of Preps

Walker Valley had six track and field athletes compete in The Best of Preps Track and Field meet at Red Bank High School recently.

Rachel Lawhorn, a senior, placed second in the shot put with a throw of 34 feet, 4.5 inches. Lawhorn came in third place in the discus event, with a distance of 99 feet, 4 inches.

Freshman Bryce Nunnelly set a new personal best in the 400-meter run, and his time of 53.56 seconds earned him a fourth place finish.

Freshman CyCy White competed in three different events at the meet.

White finished third in the high jump after clearing 4 feet, 10 inches.

She also finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 31 feet, 1.25 inches and sixth in discus with a distance of 89 feet, 7 inches.

Mason McClure, a junior, finished in a three-way tie for fifth place in the high jump after clearing 5 feet, 4 inches.

Freshman Gracie Pierce came in sixth place in the 300M hurdles with a time of 50.71, which was also a personal best.

Joshua Riley, a junior, came in seventh in the triple jump with a total distance of 34 feet, 7.25 inches.
