Join the fun Monday as cycling and ice cream enthusiasts alike take Cleveland by storm for the first Tour de Ice Cream.

David Coulter, marketing manager at Scott’s Bicycle Centre, said the event is an attempt to showcase the ease in which local residents can travel around town on a bicycle.

He said the family-friendly bicycle ride does not have a fee.

Registration for prize giveaways starts at 5:30 in the parking lot of the Bradley Square Mall. The ride will begin at 6:30. Coulter assured there is no age limit on the event, although attendees might want to keep in mind the total trek is eight miles.

“Riders will leave the mall parking lot, taking back roads to the northern Greenway entrance on Apache,” Coulter explained. “The group will then ride south to the end of the Greenway and return to Raider Drive.”

Participants will then stop at Baskin Robbins for an ice cream break.

Added Coulter, “And then [it’s] back onto the Greenway and back to the mall for the prize drawing.”

The only cost associated with the event is money spent on ice cream.
