BOB JOHNSON was the  keynote speaker for the Holston Home for Children’s Luncheon. The former football star for Bradley High School, the University of Tennessee and the Cincinnati Bengals spoke about his experiences from childhood, his athletic career and beyond. He discussed how caring his parents were, how his father thought he could do no wrong yet his mother always pushed for him to do better. The balance and love helped him strive for success in life. “What happens when  children don’t have that?” Johnson ended with, proclaiming that every child needs nurturing adults in their life.

HOLSTON UNITED METHODIST Home for Children held its Friends of Children Benefit Luncheon at the Museum Center at Five Points Thursday afternoon. The home provides hope and healing for children and families struggling with life’s challanges. Keynote speaker for the fundraiser was retired football star Bob Johnson. Catering was provided by Cafe Roma.
