Author Donna Weir of McMinn County published her first of three books on autoimmune disease April 28, with Amazon Kindle and Lulu Enterprises Inc.

A native of McMinn County living in Niota, Weir developed a myriad of autoimmune diseases over the course of the last 10 years. Through her research and the help of many medical professionals, she wrote this book filled will information on common autoimmune diseases and the known triggers that cause them.

This account of her journey began at the request of her daughter, who wanted her to keep a journal so that if one day she too developed an autoimmune disease, she would have a guide to know what to do to get proper care.

This first book is written as a biography and informational guide for all autoimmune sufferers, their families and friends. It's full of information on ways to keep from getting an autoimmune disease, and gives resources on what to do if one gets the disease, to help them live a better quality of life.

All royalties on books purchased from Amazon Kindle between June 7 and July 6 will be donated to the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association, in order to aide research into autoimmune diseases.
