James W. Cooper, 58, of Cleveland and formerly of Tallahassee, Fla., passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, in a local hospital.
He was born on Sept. 13, 1955.
He received an honorable discharge and was a veteran of the United States Navy after faithfully serving his country during the Vietnam War.
He was employed with the Whirlpool Corporation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. Cooper Sr. and Elaine Long Cooper.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory three daughters: Cassey Fuller, Kaitlyn Cooper and Kymido Strickland, all of Tallahassee; brother, David R. Young and wife Carol, of Cleveland; sisters: Linda Payne of Kennesaw, Ga., and Joyce Tschiecler of Tallahassee; stepmothe, Dorothy Cooper also of Tallahassee; and numerous other extended family members.
He will be laid to rest in the Chattanooga National Cemetery during a private ceremony.
