MoJo get past Cardinals

Five first-inning runs helped the Charleston MoJo to a 7-4 win over the Ooltewah Cardinals at Charleston on Sunday.

The MoJo scored in the first inning on an RBI single by Koltyn Plumb, a bases-loaded walk, a two-run single by Josh Hindman and an RBI single by Nathan Haney.

Elijah Haynie got a hit in each of his four at bats, along with four stolen bases and two runs scored. He singled in the first, second, fourth, and sixth innings.

Colby Dills was in control on the mound. Dills gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his four innings of work. Dills was also a terror at the plate, with three hits in four at bats with a double, and RBI, two stolen bases and one run scored.

The MoJo are now 4-5-1 on the season’ they will be at Hixson High School on June 8 against the Boynton Bravest at 1:30 p.m.

The team will then be back home in Charleston on June 22 for a doubleheader with the Middle Valley Marlins at 1:30 and 4 p.m. Admission is free, so come out, have some family fun and watch your local team play America’s Game in a truly intense, competitive fashion.
