Join us today in the Community Room as the “2nd Sundays @ 2p.m.” kicks off the summer reading program with a presentation by the University of Tennessee Extension Agent Robin Ramsey, as she discusses the “Elements of Growing Herbs.” This free program is open to the public.

The Wednesday afternoon weekly movie begins this week with the screening at 2 p.m. of “Wall-E” (rated G) in the Community Room. Stay after the movie to continue the fun with board games until 5:30 p.m.

This activity will continue each Wednesday until July 23.

Teens will kick off their summer reading program on June 14 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the After Hours Party. Each week, teens will explore a different part of this year’s theme, “Spark a Reaction,” with science experiments and crafts based on our favorite science fiction. Programs for teens, 13 through 17, require signup online or at the library.

There will be a National Teen Lock-In from 7 p.m. Aug. 1 until 7 a.m. Aug. 2. This event is limited to 35 teens and a mandatory parent/teen meeting is required to attend. Check out more information online on our website or in the Teen Zone on the second floor of the library.
