Carson-Newman University

JEFFERSON CITY — Carson-Newman University recently announced its spring graduates.

The following area students recently went from being students to alumni:

n Sarah Percy of Birchwood, who graduated with a bachelor of science degree in nursing;

n Stephen Henderson of Cleveland, who graduated cum laude with a bachelor of Arts degree; and

n Jeremy Roberts of McDonald, who graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree.

Carson-Newman University is a private, Christian liberal arts institution of 2,045 students that is located among the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.

Trevecca Nazarene University

NASHVILLE — Sarah Jordan of Cleveland graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville on Saturday, May 3.

She is a graduate of Cleveland High School and the daughter of Brad Suits and Toby Hall of Cleveland.

Jordan majored in religion and double minored in psychology and youth ministry. During her years at Trevecca, Jordan was a student worker for the office of public relations; a member of TrevEchoes, the student-produced campus newspaper; and a member of the dean's list for two semesters.

Following graduation, Jordan plans to move to Seattle with her husband and attend graduate school at the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology to earn her master's in counseling psychology.

Tusculum College

GREENEVILLE — A total of 307 students graduated during commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 10, at Tusculum College, and one local student was among them.

Erika M. Chamberlin of Cleveland graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in interdisciplinary studies, K-6 concentration.

Students graduating with a 3.75 to 3.94 grade point average received magna cum laude honors.
