A Court of Honor Ceremony was held April 26 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, honoring five Scouts who recently achieved the rank of Eagle in local Scout Troop 44, according to Scoutmaster John McClain.

They are David S. Campbell, son of Marva and Scott Campbell;

Zachary S. DeHart, son of Leslie and Michael DeHart;

Charles C. Kramer, son of Judy and Rich Kramer;

Daniel L. McClain, son of Tracy and John McClain and Amy and David Bales; and

Jonathan P. Steele, son of Robin and Paul Steele.

Guest speaker for the evening was Eagle Scout Rich Appledoorn, retired Cleveland Merck plant manager and current adjunct professor at Lee University.

This week, the five Scouts will travel westward with a group of more than 20 for 12 days of “high adventure” backpacking in the rugged northern New Mexico wilderness at Philmont Scout Ranch.
